Learn and Bloom at the Coastal Region Library Flower Show

Citrus County is an area rich in natural beauty and local character. Every year brings a range of events that all offer something unique. With that, The Garden Club of Crystal River would like to invite the public to their annual flower show, hosted by the Coastal Region Library in Crystal River. The event is free and open to the public March 29th and 30th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The theme of this year’s show is “Loving Our Nature Coast” and will focus on the beautiful cities and festivals of Citrus County. Enjoy unique floral design based on the springs of Crystal River, rich history of Inverness, and nature of Floral City. Then, feast your eyes on tables inspired by our local festivals. Experience the Seafood, Strawberry, and Mermaid and Margaritas festivals in a whole new way!

Curious about the process of growing and creating these exquisite displays? Garden Club experts will be hosting presentations to share their floral knowledge. Don’t have a green thumb? Join staff for paper flower crafts that won’t wilt away. Presentations and crafts are listed below:

March 29th

1:00 PM – Understanding the Art of Floral Design

Join National Garden Club teacher, Ms. Elaine Parisi to learn the art form of creating floral designs. Ms. Parisi has over 30 years of experience and has had her designs published in several books and magazines. A question and answer session will follow her presentation.

2:00 PM – Paper Lavender Bouquet Craft

The Coastal Region Flower Show is in full swing! Want a flower of your own to take home? Not a problem! Join the Coastal Region Library as we demonstrate how to take paper and make your very own lavender bouquet.

3:00 PM – Getting Ready for Spring in the Garden

Join National Garden Club award winner, Ms. Ginny Grandpre to learn the secrets of gardening in central Florida. Discover new plants and how to best start that spring garden for year-long results. A question and answer session will follow her presentation.

March 30th

11:00 AM – Growing and Care for Camellias

Learn the ins and outs of camellias from gardener Annie Aierstock. Ms. Aierstock has over 30 years of experience growing her award-winning beauties. A question and answer session will follow her presentation.

1:00 PM – 3D Flower Card Craft

Our Flower Show is winding down to a close, so join the Coastal Region Library for one last craft! Learn how to make three dimensional flowers and make a card that pops!
