Volunteering at Citrus Libraries offer many benefits not only to you but also to our community. Volunteers develop friendships while at the library improving mood and lowering stress. Student volunteers will learn leadership skills and work experience skills to help build college applications or resumes. Literacy volunteers at our library help grow our community through mentoring. There are many ways you can volunteer, come in and ask for an application at any of our branches.

Common Questions


To volunteer as a student, you must be in High School and 14 years or older.

Most volunteer positions require a 1 to 2 hours a week commitment. It is important to talk to your volunteer coordinator and let them know how many hours each week you would like to commit to so they can place you into the right position.

Students who are applying for scholarships can count their volunteer hours as community service.

The volunteer coordinator at the branch you are interested in applying for will inform you of which positions are available. Not all positions are available at all the branches.

Yes, we have short term volunteer opportunities perfect for students who need hours during the summer. Adults looking for short term opportunities may want to apply for Special Events Assistant. There are plenty of long term positions available for those who would like to volunteer each week.
