Celebrate National Book Lover’s Day at the Coastal Region Library with Old Mill Printing

In celebration of books, and National Book Lover’s Day, the Coastal Region Library will be hosting a special program for bibliophiles of all ages. Have you ever wondered about the history of book printing? How so many copies of a book could have possibly been made without a modern machine? Then, join Jim Anderson from the Old Mill House Gallery & Printing Museum on August 9th starting at 11:00 AM. Jim will be presenting and demonstrating all there is to know about the process of letterpress book printing. Those in attendance will see examples of hand setting type circa 1800 and even have the opportunity to try it for themselves. This is a hands-on opportunity that you won’t want to miss!

This event is free, open to anyone, and doesn’t require registration. For additional information about our upcoming program schedule, please call your local library branch, go to the library’s website, citruslibraries.org, or follow Citrus Libraries on Facebook and Instagram at @CitrusLibraries.
