Celebrate the Holiday Season with Citrus Libraries

The holiday season is here again to mark the end of another year. But rather than letting the season slip by, Citrus Libraries wants to go out with a bang! Each year in December, the libraries host their own holiday celebrations to bring community members of all ages together for a day of cheer.

Our Floral City branch starts the festivities alongside the Floral City Heritage Days Festival. On Friday, December 3 at 5:00 PM, stroll through the Linear Park in front of the library to enjoy a Holiday StoryWalk® Citrus. Flashlights will be provided to read the story by the Friends of the Floral City Library. Then come into the library for our Candles and Carols Cafe. Stop by again on Saturday, December 4 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, to create themed crafts for any age.

The Homosassa branch will be holding their celebration on Tuesday, December 7 starting at 9:00 AM, and running until 2:00 PM. Enjoy a craft kit to make at home, or sit and chat with others while you make your projects in the library. Don’t forget to take a fun family photo at the holiday photobooth!

Next, the Central Ridge branch will be hosting a musical get together of several local talents on Thursday, December 9 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There will be craft stations, refreshments, and card making to donate to a local charity.

On Friday, December 10 the Coastal Region branch will hold their holiday celebration starting at 1:00 PM. There will be holiday themed craft stations for all ages along with party games. Try your hand at the karaoke station and become the life of the party!

And finally, the Lakes Region branch will be celebrating on Monday, December 13th, beginning at 10:00 AM, and running until 12:30 PM. Enjoy our final celebration by making crafts for yourself or to give to those you love. Be sure to stick around for a musical performance by the Nature Coast Dulcimer Players. There will also be Gingerbread House building, those interested in building will need to pre-register as supplies are limited.

These programs are free and available to everyone, with no registration required. For additional information about any of these programs and other ways to celebrate the holidays at Citrus Libraries, please call your local library branch, go to the library’s website, citruslibraries.org, or follow Citrus Libraries on Facebook and Instagram at @CitrusLibraries.
