Fire in the Sky: Meteorites

On Saturday, January 27 at 10:30 AM, come to the Homosassa Library for a free, educational, and fun presentation. Join the SETS Foundation for a crash course in space junk and learn about the different ways that people have been fascinated by meteors. The ancients thought it was their gods returning to earth; in the middle ages, they thought they delivered disease. In truth, meteors are really rock and metal that creates those fiery trails as they streak through the night sky. This presentation will explain meteors from their birth in space to sitting on some scientist’s desk or on a museum shelf.

Seating is limited, so please register by visiting our online calendar, in person, or by calling us at (352) 628-5626.
