Citrus Libraries Celebrates Constitution Week

Citrus Libraries will feature several programs at various branches to celebrate the drafting and signing of the U.S. Constitution. Celebrate Constitution Week with the Citrus County Library System from September 17-23 by attending any or all of the programs listed below.

The Coastal Region branch in Crystal River will host Constitution Calligraphy on Wednesday, September 21st from 1:00-2:30 PM. Attend this program and learn the art of calligraphy and practice recreating the words “We the People”. Please note that space is limited and registration is required.

Representatives from the Supervisor of Elections office will be at the Floral City branch on Thursday, September 22nd from 9:00-11:00 AM for a voter registration drive. These representatives will be available to register people to vote and answer questions about upcoming elections.

Come by the Homosassa branch on Thursday, September 22nd for a presentation on the Constitution called History Hour: A Succinct History of the U.S. Constitution. The presentation will present a history of the Constitution from the origins of the Constitutional Convention to the ratification of the document. The program will run from 1:00-2:30 PM.

If you know your Constitution, or even if you don’t, try your hand at the Trivia Time! You Think You Know the U.S. Constitution at the Homosassa branch. This program will take place on Saturday, September 24th from 1:30-2:30 PM. Test your mettle in a friendly and fun trivia game, and you could win bragging rights and a small prize.

These library programs are free and open to everyone. For additional information about these events or other upcoming programs, go to the library’s website, citruslibraries.org.
