From the Director’s Desk – March 2026

Every month Citrus Libraries is proud to connect with our community beyond our library buildings. Through outreach, staff and volunteers bring library services directly to the community across Citrus County, meeting people where they are and making access to library resources easier for everyone.

Throughout the year, staff interact with thousands of community members at festivals, school events, community events, and partner programs. While attending large events like the upcoming Floral City Strawberry Festival or attending one of the many literacy and education events hosted by our partners like the Citrus County School District, our staff promote reading, lifelong learning, and raise awareness of the free resources and support available at the library.

Citrus Libraries is also committed to ensuring everyone has access to library materials, even if they are unable to visit a branch in person. In addition to a growing digital library, volunteers also support Homebound Delivery Service. Our Homebound Delivery Service supports patrons with temporary or permanent disabilities by delivering books and other library materials directly to their homes. This past year, volunteers delivered over 1,000 materials to homebound patrons. This service helps patrons stay connected, social, and engaged with the library. We are proud to serve Citrus County not only inside our branches, but throughout the community.
