Volunteer Spotlight June 2024
Every month, the Citrus County Library System features a volunteer in their “Outside the Stacks” blog on their website. This month, the Floral City Library would like to shine the spotlight on Kitty. We asked Kitty several questions and thought it would be fun to share her responses!

Q: Why did you start volunteering?
A: I am retired after a very rewarding career and am able to take the time. I am aware of the need for volunteers in every community.
Q: What inspired you to volunteer with the library?
A: I have always appreciated libraries and books. They open so many minds to new thoughts and even new ways of thinking.
Q: How do you balance your volunteering with other activities in your life?
A: The wonderful thing about volunteering is you can take personal time off as needed so it’s easy to balance.
Q: Other than volunteering, what do you like to do with your free time?
A: I love to travel to the beach and to places I haven’t been.
Q: Do you volunteer anywhere else in the community?
A: I also volunteer at the citrus County Animal Shelter, with the cats/kittens.
Q: Tell us about your best vacation ever
A: Best vacation ever was the 14 days I spent in Ireland.
