From the Director’s Desk – November 2025

I’m thrilled to announce the completion of the Coastal Region Library’s renovation. Over the course of this project, we’ve worked to reimagine the library to better serve our community’s evolving needs. Upgraded technology, energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the building, new study rooms, an additional meeting space, a redesigned children’s area, and a centralized circulation desk are just some of the ways we’ve modernized the library experience.
Growing up, I frequently visited our Citrus County libraries, and it was important to me that while we modernized our library spaces, we also preserved the welcoming, familiar atmosphere that defines the Citrus County Library System. Our mission and our commitment to exceptional customer service remain the same. These updates simply strengthen our role as a trusted community anchor.
This renovation project represents a significant investment in our community’s future and was made possible through more than a decade of fundraising, ARPA funding, and the generous support of the Friends of the Coastal Region Library.
I invite you to join us for the Grand Reopening Celebration on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 10:00AM. Come explore the updates, enjoy light refreshments, and meet library staff and community members who made this renovation possible.
