Celebrate National Library Week 2022 with Citrus Libraries

We’re celebrating all week long at Citrus Libraries and you’re all invited! Every year in honor of National Library Week, the staff of the Citrus County Library System (CCLS) work to provide fun, educational programming that represents the interests of all. Stop by your nearest branch (or visit a new one!) to learn something new, while connecting with Citrus Libraries!

Central Ridge Branch, Beverly Hills – On Monday, April 4 at 1:00PM the staff will be hosting a karaoke competition they’ve dubbed “Singing in the Stacks”! Then, on Wednesday, April 6 at 1:00PM, reminisce during “Fiction Addiction” with a storytime that is just for our adult patrons. Finally, on Thursday, April 2 at 2:00 PM, the teens will be gathering for a “Blackout Poetry Workshop” to celebrate both National Library Week and National Poetry Month.

Coastal Region Branch, Crystal River – Running the entire week, April 4-8, the Coastal Region staff invite you to participate in their branch Scavenger Hunt. When you come to the branch, stop at the front desk to pick up your scavenger hunt, learn all about what CCLS has to offer, and pick-up your prize before you head out!

Floral City Branch, Floral City – On Monday, April 4 at 10:30 AM, try your hand at painting a new watercolor bookmark to use with your next big read. Then, on Tuesday, April 5 at 10:00 AM, the Friends of the Floral City Library want to meet you! Meet the Friends, learn about what they do, and how to join this fantastic organization. Finally, on Wednesday, April 6 at 10:30 AM, we will be hosting a Citrus Library Academy session giving you all of the tips and tricks on how to be use your library – this is one event you won’t want to miss!

Homosassa Branch, Homosassa – Calling all of our music lovers!! Pete Mehrmann will once again be visiting Citrus Libraries for his “Guitar Hour” presentation on Friday, April 8 at 12:00 noon. This fascinating program will feature not only music, but a history on guitars that Pete built from repurposed materials. Anyone interested in music, wood crafting and upcycling are sure to enjoy this event.

Lakes Region Branch, Inverness – Hurricane season will soon be upon us, and Citrus Libraries wants to make sure everyone is as prepared as possible! The “Digitally Preparing for Disasters” Tech Talk is an ever-changing resource to help you as you prep for natural disasters and will be presented on Friday, April 8 at 2:30 PM. Learn what precautions you can take, as well as ways to use your phone, apps and websites to make sure you won’t be caught off guard.

While these are just a few of the special programs being offered for National Library Week, be sure that you are connecting with Citrus Libraries to always be in-the-know. There are programs available for community members of all ages that can be found by visiting us at citruslibraries.org or by following @CitrusLibraries on Facebook and Instagram.
