A “Living Library” where someone else’s story is just a check out away…

Everyone knows to visit the library to find a good story. Books bring the stories of others to life and helps to bridge one life to another. What if instead of reading someone’s story from the printed word, you could speak right to them.  What if you could ask a domestic violence survivor about their experience and how they changed their life, or speak directly to a veteran about what it was like to serve? Wednesday, February 1st at the Floral City Library, beginning at 10:30 AM, you can do just that as you come in and take part in a “Living Library”.

The following people from right here in Citrus County are coming to us as “open books” ready to share their stories: Fred Daniels, a local veteran; HD and Lynn Bassett, longtime Floral City Heritage Council Members; Chris McIntire, dedicated Friend of the Floral City Library; Christina, a Domestic Violence Survivor and Advocate; Philip Pinette, a Dementia Caregiver; and Dylan Newton, a local author.

For additional information on programs hosted by Citrus Libraries, you can visit citruslibraries.org, or follow @CitrusLibraries on Facebook and Instagram.
