Can’t find an item at the Library? Request your item through FLIN SHAREit, our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. You can borrow from other libraries with Interlibrary loans that we order in the State of Florida for you. ILL services are available to anyone with a Citrus County Library card.

Requesting an Interlibrary Loan
If you have a Citrus County Library card, you can borrow from other libraries with Interlibrary loans through FLIN SHAREit, a service in the state of Florida.
Prior to making a request, please visit the Citrus Libraries catalog to ensure the item is not already available in our catalog.
Interlibrary Loan Guidelines
Follow these guidelines when requesting an Interlibrary Loan:
- You must have a valid Citrus County Library card.
- Your Library Account must be in good standing with no fines.
- Items published or released within the last 6 months can not be requested.
- A limit of 5 requests can be active.
- Interlibrary Loans can be checked out for 3 weeks (21 days).
- Interlibrary Loans are not renewable.
Interlibrary Loan FAQ
Most items can be requested through Interlibrary loan, including: books, dvds, and cds. Electronic items such as eBooks and audiobooks are unable to be requested.
Interlibrary Loans can come from out of state and take up to 5 weeks to arrive, depending on the location it is being sent from.
You can check the status of your request by logging into your account with your library card in FLIN, going to your account menu and selecting items from other libraries. There you can change the location of where you would like to pick up the item and check on its status.
If your request is denied, a note will be placed on your account.
The item will be put on Hold for you and become available at the branch you requested the item to be sent to. You will then be contacted by your messaging preferences in your account.
Interlibrary Loans allow for 5 active requests at time. If you currently have 5 active requests, before requesting a new item through Interlibrary Loan, please wait 2 – 6 weeks to allow items to be returned to their own Libraries, and removed from your account. Items will be sent back to their home libraries, which may be from out of state.
Interlibrary Loans have a 3 week (21 days) checkout period with no renewals.
