All Interlibrary loans are now provided through the iBorrow Service.
This service allows for materials that are not in the Citrus County Library System to be borrowed from other libraries. Generally requests cannot be filled for items published in the previous six months.
To request an interlibrary loan, you must have a valid library card with no fines. If fees are charged by the lending library, the patron will be required to pay. Depending on the availability of materials, requests may take up to four weeks to process. If the item is unavailable a notice will be sent to the address or email on file.
What is iBorrow?
iBorrow is a Universal Resource Sharing Application (URSA) program which allows you to borrow library materials from libraries throughout Florida and the continental United States from any internet connected computer. All you have to do is tell it what you’re looking for, and it will do all the work. Your order will be shipped to the library of your choice and the library will contact you by phone when your order has arrived and is ready for pickup.
How to use iBorrow:
Create an account.
Search for an item.
Manage your account.
Note: The Citrus County Library System will process a Genealogy request if an exact title is known. Please be aware that this type of material is often classified as reference. If photocopies are provided by the lender, there may be a charge.

Partnerships Enhance Library Service
The Citrus County Library System in conjunction with the Tampa Bay Library Consortium and other west central Florida libraries is pleased to offer the service of reciprocal borrowing. Reciprocal borrowing is a collaborative, resource sharing project among participating libraries. It provides library patrons with access to more materials by establishing an agreement between libraries that allows users access to the resources of each other's collections.
If at any time you are in a city or county that has a reciprocal borrowing agreement with the Citrus County Library System, you will have access to
the materials in their collection as a regular patron of their library system at no cost. The reciprocal borrowing agreement will waive all non-resident fees that are normally assessed.
Since each participating library will have its own specific procedures for registering reciprocal borrowers, you will need to identify yourself as a patron of the Citrus County Library System by presenting them with your current library card and inquire about the procedures for adding you as one of their patrons. You as a patron are bound to all of the rules of the participating library. If the library charges overdue fees, you will be responsible for any fines or fees that you incur. So it is important that you inquire about each library's borrowing policies. For more information, please ask your librarian for a brochure.
