A Day at the Races

Horse racing jockeysJoin with others for a fun Day at the Races at the Tampa Bay Downs on February 4, 2012. This special event is a fundraiser to benefit the Senior Foundation of Citrus County. 

Tickets are $45 per person and include your return bus ride, admission with reserved seating, racing program, and a delicious buffet lunch with desserts and beverages.

You can choose from two locations and times for bus pickup and return:

Citrus County Resource Center: 9:30 am - 7:00 pm

East Citrus Community Center: 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

YMCA Programs

Did you know that the Citrus County branch of the YMCA of the Suncoast sponsors great, low-cost youth programs all year? 

The next round of programs begins in January, and they have a lot to offer. You can sign up for a Basketball and Cheer League or after school enrichment programs which can include sessions on soccer, dance, or art at schools all across the county.

You can download a registration form at their website. Be sure to check out all the wonderful events that the YMCA has going on in their events brochure.

Rockin' the Holidays!

holliday-show-2011Mark your calendars for the 3rd Annual Holiday Show, Rockin' the Holidays, on December 9, 2011 at the Citrus Springs Community Center, 1570 West Citrus Springs Boulevard. The show begins at 7:00 pm.

This special event features the talented New Dawn Singers, a traveling group of college age perfomers who bring a high-energy song and dance show to all ages across the country. Don't miss this holiday performance full of life, enthusiasm, and spirit! 

Tickets are $7.00 per person. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Citrus County Parks & Recreation at 465-7077 or 527-7540.

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast

pancakesJoin the Kiwanis Club of Homosassa Springs for their annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, November 12th, 2011 at the Homosassa First United Methodist Church, 8831 W. Bradshaw Street. The breakfast will be held from 7:30 am to 11:30 am and tickets are available at the door.

For more information, contact Mark at 628-5281 or Iris at 795-5541, ext. 313. Proceeds from the Pancake Breakfast go to support scholarships, reading initiatives in our elementary schools, and service projects in our community.
