Youth Classes

Every week, there are exciting and educational youth classes at your libraries. These classes teach students and parents important literacy skills like vocabulary, phonological awareness, narrative skills, print awareness, letter knowledge, and an appreciation for learning and enjoying books.

Central Ridge Library

Preschool Stories
Tuesdays, 11:00 am
Stories, music, and crafts for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers.

 

Coastal Region Library

Mother Goose Time
Tuesdays, 11:00 am

A 20-minute class for babies 0-30 months and their caregivers, featuing songs, rhymes, and fingerplays. 

Preschool Storytime
Thursdays, 10:30 am

Stories, music, and crafts for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers.

Family Storytime
Wednesdays. 6:00 pm
Stories and music for children and their caregivers. Children may wear their pajamas.

 

Floral City Public Library

Preschool Stories
Wednesdays, 10:30 am

Stories, music, and crafts for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers.

Family Storytime
Thursdays, 6:00 pm
Stories and music for children and their caregivers. Children may wear their pajamas.


Homosassa Public Library

Mother Goose Time
Thursdays, 10:30 am

A 20-minute class for babies 0-30 months and their caregivers, featuing songs, rhymes, and fingerplays.

Preschool Storytime
Wednesdays, 11:00 am

Stories, music, and crafts for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers. 

Celebrate Reading
Tuesdays, 4:30 pm
A fun reading class consisting of two programs that help preschool and elementary school age children develop literacy skills, improve their reading, and gain a love of books. In PAWS to Read, children practice their reading skills by reading aloud to Penny, a certified therapy dog. In Reading Pals @ Your Library, teens read storybooks to 1 or 2 younger children at a time. Children may wish to draw or write about a story they like.
